What is hypochlorous acid?

Hypochlorous acid is made from water, salt and electricity and is completely free of harmful chemicals, dyes or alcohol. Hypochlorous acid, or hypochlorous acid (in English hypochlorous acid) is a weak acid that is formed when chlorine is dissolved in water. It can not exist in pure form but only as a solution in water.

In short, Anolytech’s machine works by extracting hypochlorous acid (HClO), or hypochlorous acid as it is also called, with the raw materials salt, water and electricity, which is also our body’s own disinfectant that effectively kills unwanted bacteria and viruses in our bodies. Hypochlorous acid is also one of the active ingredients in many other products, such as the well-known Virkon as a disinfectant.

Hypochlorous acid is made up of a hypochlorite ion (negatively charged) and a hydrogen ion (positively charged) and together they form a neutral compound.

It is, among other things, hypochlorous acid that our white blood cells produce when they attack bacteria and viruses in the body. Hypochlorous acid attacks proteins in the cell membranes of microorganisms and destroys them so that the cell breaks down and dies. Thanks to the direct mechanism of action, it does not matter if the bacteria are resistant or multi-resistant to antibiotics.

The acid has been used in medicine for many years and there are many scientific studies that confirm its effectiveness. Hypochlorous acid is classified in the EU as a biocide (EC1048, 2005AIII). Studies show that hypochlorous acid kills 99.9% of all bacteria and viruses, including coronavirus. Anolytech offers hand disinfection and surface disinfection that is environmentally friendly and friendly to the skin. Further studies are currently being carried out at Karolinska Institutet on hypochlorous acid and coronavirus.
